Consoles for free - can it work?

So there are loads of sites out there offering free this and free that, but do any of them actually work? Many a time Iâ''ve been convinced to go along with competitions or schemes, with the incentive of a free gift. But really do I follow it through. Until recently, I got hooked on the idea of something for nothing and wanted a free console (an Xbox360 with a RRP of £270+) so I signed up to a Referral based site where the idea is you sign up, you complete an offer (free trail) and you get so many friends to do the same. It works! I received my first item of a Nintendo DS, not what I original went for but I changed my mind! This Referral based sites have been going on for ages it seems and thereâ''s Communities of people who aim towards getting more and more free items. How it works is when you complete a offer such as a trail to a DVD rental company LOVEFiLM, the advertiser pays the referral site commission, which allows rewards to be given out for getting friends to sign up! The site which initially explained it all was called www.incentives.co.nr which was explain how it worked and what to do really well and im glad I found it to be honest!
